Our Services

ESEFLY is a company specialized on Major Overhaul, Shock Load & Overspeed Inspections, and repairs on Lycoming, Continental and Rotax engines.

Engine Overhaul

An engine overhaul is the complete disassembly of the engine, cleaning, inspection (visual and dimensional), improvement of parts (ex.: rusty parts), replacement of mandatory parts (according with manufacturers Overhaul Manual and SB’s), assembly, painting and final test of the engine on test bench (Dyno or Propeller). After this Overgaul the TBO of the engine is reset back to zero.

Top Overhaul

Top Overhaul, is the repair or replacement of the cylinders kit (cylinder assembly, piston, piston rings, piston pin), this intervention does not extend the TBO of the engine.

Magnetos Overhaul & Inspections

Beyond the engines overhaul, we are prepared to perform the Overhaul, 500 hours inspection on Bendix (TCM) magnetos and the 500 hours inspections on Slick magnetos. We also do other inspections/repairs on both magneto brands. All the magnetos are submitted to a test on our test bench, that could check any misfire, during the tests.

Shock Load Inspection

Shock Load Inspection is the intervention made after a propeller strike or an hydraulic lock (Lycoming SB533 & TCM SB96-11)

Miscellaneous Repair

We are eqquiped with all the needed tools to do the repairs on engines

Workshop

About

Our facilities are at 5 min.(by car) from Tires Airfield (Cascais – Portugal), and are equipped to perform all the process for the Major Overhaul, Inspections and/or Repairs of engines and in their accessories (Magnetos, Fuel Systems, etc.)

Dynamometer & Propeller Bench

We have at our disposal and after each intervention on engines (Overhaul, Repair or Shock Load Inspection) two test benches, that allow us to realize the “break-in” of the engines.

Chemical Cleaning

After disassembly, all engines are degreased (on a vapour phase degreaser), decarbonized and the paint is removed by immersion on a chemical bath, on our Chemical booth. That was designed to receive any engine part, from the smallest engine, the Continental A-65 to the biggest Lycoming IO-720.

Mechanical Cleaning

Like the chemical cleaning booth, also in this section, the equipment has been designed for the full range of engines we intervened, which if necessary will be cleaned in the cabins of “Plastic Media” in the case of Crankcases, Oil Sump, to avoid clogging the lubrication channels or “Glass Bead” for the internal components.

Paint booth

Our paint booth, works with an air curtain system, with appropriate filters to prevent environmental contamination

Test Bench

All the engines that where intervened at ESEFLY (Overhaul, Shock Load or Overspeed Inspection, other Repairs), are submitted to a test on our Test Bench, where we colletc all the parameters of the engine, to guarantee the good performance.
